If People Want To Listen to Crappy Recordings, What Am I Going To Do?
Railroad Earth | The Fox Theatre | Boulder, CO | 2009-11-21
Greetings! This week we’re listening to Railroad Earth live at the Fox Theatre in beautiful Boulder, Colorado on November 21, 2009, the final show of a three-night run.
The title of this post is taken from an interview given by Tim Carbone to Boulder Weekly’s Dave Kirby in advance of these shows. Tim’s take on audience taping is worth reproducing in full below:
“Well, we allow audience taping … so that can be sketchy and dicey. The bottom line is that the audience tapes tend to be … mostly OK, not that bad. And we record every show ourselves, anyway.
But … to me, I don’t really care. If people want to listen to crappy recordings, what am I going to do?
I view our live shows as something that I put out and it goes out into the ether, and when it’s done, it’s done.”
Thanks for putting this one out into the ether, Tim. Enjoy the mostly OK, not that bad audience tape via the archive link below.
